The Central Empire is the largest continent of Aurora, it spans the equator and has the most diverse biomes. This continent is home to the technologically advanced, highly militaristic nation called Pyron. Some islands have managed to escape the control of Pyron, others have not been so lucky.

Largest nation

Pyron being the most technologically advanced nation has required a hardstance on constant innovation. This society favors intelligence, combat and magical prowess. The government is run by a king or queen, with a counsel of six aether combat specialists and four science and technology specialists. Every four years there is a national tournament to select the most gifted minds for the Central Senate, the reigning champions are required to participate.

Locations in the Central Empire.

Osim se Selfotus Zürin

A desert whose sands are constantly moving, a sea of quicksand that hosts an incredible abundance of diverse life. The Aether here runs wild and rampant, during a full moon the tidal waves are large enough to bury a city. Oddly enough, there are rumors of texts and ancient maps of the area that depicted a city used to be located somewhere within the borders of this ocean. Scholars speculate the city would have existed before the desert came alive, and was swallowed by what we call “The Awakening.”

The sands here writhe and ripple, seemingly acting like ocean waves. The movements create temporary caves beneath the surface. The surface acts as both a liquid and a solid, making it unsafe for unsuspecting travelers, even worse, the surface of the desert perfectly reflects the sky, effectively making the horizon vanish.

Singing Mountains - Kantus Genurtes

Located on the Central continent, the Singing Mountains get their name from the unique Melody they emit. A combination of thermal and sound energies cause the naturally occurring brass tunnels to sing during peak hours of the day. The mountain range surrounds the Caldera of Mt. Surge, a 5Km volcano that lies beneath the surface. Only the top 15m of the Caldera reaches the open air.

Genurt Hypolea

The second tallest point in the world, four separate mountain ranges collide and that epicenter is what we know as Genurt Hypolea. There are rumors of an ancient Ása (ice) spirit that dwells here, warding off all intruders. As such, little is known about the peak of the mountain.

Dafta’s Cairn

A relic of a bygone era, Dafta was the Central Empire’s strongest fighter almost 80 years ago. His aether was so immense that it could be felt across the nation. Upon their death, Dafta’s aether began seeping into their final resting place, corrupting the land with a mixture of Pinku and NeJrnos aethers. The result is a twisted landscape with alien features – Trees with Obsidian black bark, harder than diamond yet still growing as a tree would. Undead made of crystalline materials instead of the usual bone, Monstrous creatures that appear to be hybrids of existing creatures.
